Pebble Beach 2007 Page Updated

I've got more meat to my Pebble Beach 2007 page now. Thanks to Brooke who sent me the video tape of the Day 3 Pebble Beach coverage and also Julie who made the larger screen caps.

Updates, Updates, Updates

Since my trip out of town, I've been remiss on updating. Here's some new stuff:

New downloads: a video of Lyin' Eyes from Houston 1976, and a MP3 of Peaceful Easy Feeling from Frey's solo show at Casino Rama 2005.

New wallpaper: This one is from HFO.

New articles: Scanned in articles from Circus (1973), BAM (1982), and Rolling Stone (1990). While doing research for the golf section of the site, I also came across a nice article about his charity work in The Patroit Ledger (2000).

New video: I put up a pretty good quality version of Frey's video Livin' Right, and redid the screen caps for it. (Note: there is both a .mpg and .wmv version of the file. I've decided I'm going to put up .wmv aka "Windows Media Video" compressed versions of all permanent GFO videos because the loss of quality is not great and the download size is more manageable for people with dial-up. For those who want the highest quality, however, I will still put up .mpg versions).

Back from Pebble Beach

As some of you know, I went to Pebble Beach again this year! It was loads of fun. Going there motivated me to create a section of GFO just for Frey's golfing tournaments. It contains my Pebble Beach 2007 page, which is still under construction as people send me more goodies for it. Enjoy!

Eagles working on Eagle-izing new song

At Pebble Beach this week, Glenn Frey mentioned something interesting. He said that the song he performed in his solo concerts last July entitled "I Love to Watch a Woman Dance" was currently being worked on by Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit in his absence. He said that the song had been around for about eight years, but that Don and Timothy were laying down harmonies in order to "Eagle-ize" it, in his words. I guess we can assume this track will be on the upcoming album!

Of course no one knows when Frey will be on, but I imagine he'll get shown at least once or twice.

Just for fun, I'm linking to a cute snippet regarding the Frey/Stadler team in 2004, an MP3 of the golf parody Struggler's Blues.

Henley is also getting his MusiCares award this week. In honor of that, I've put up downloads where Frey and Henley share lead vocals. The video is Good Day in Hell from the Kirshner Rock Concert 1974 and the audio is Seven Bridges Road from Denver 2001.

Other Frey/Henley co-lead audio moments that are on the site: How Long (Berkeley 1973), Doolin-Dalton / Desperado Reprise (Springfield 1975), King of Hollywood (Long Beach 1980), After the Thrill Is Gone (Long Beach 1980), and Seven Bridges Road (Oklahoma City 2002).

Other Frey/Henley co-lead video moments that are on the site: How Long (Holland 1973), Ol' 55 (Kirshner Rock Concert 1974), Good Day in Hell (Houston 1976), and Seven Bridges Road (Seattle 1976).

Finally, regarding the new album, Don has given some more information to Billboard.
