Take It Easy Video

Well, the big day's over - hope Glenn had a good time on his 60th birthday. He deserves it. Thanks for the music and for all you've given of yourself, Glenn. Rock on!

I thought it might be fun to stick together a little montage of live performances of Take It Easy over the years.

Edited to add: This video has been taken down by YouTube on behalf of Warner Brothers. So much for that!

Happy Birthday Glenn: Multimedia Treats

Of course, as I do every year on Glenn's birthday, I'm putting up the video from the Hotel California tour where JD Souther wishes him a happy birthday.

JD Souther and the birthday boy (Houston 1976)

And we've got Glenn and Joe co-hosting the CMT Country Countdown USA about this time in 2007 (thanks Kay)! It's in 15 parts:
Part 1 :: Part 2 :: Part 3 :: Part 4 :: Part 5
Part 6 :: Part 7 :: Part 8 :: Part 9 :: Part 10
Part 11 :: Part 12 :: Part 13 :: Part 14 :: Part 15

More to come!

Happy 60th Birthday Glenn Frey!

It's past midnight on the East Coast, so I figure, I can go ahead and wish Glenn Frey a happy birthday! We've been celebrating all week with the various decades and today, it's going to be about the present day: Long Road Out of Eden goodies.

I'll start uploading those after I get home from work tomorrow. I gotta go to bed now. But I hope Glenn has a wonderful birthday!

6 Days 'Til 60!

Glenn Frey is turning 60 in just 6 days! To celebrate, we're going to do a little something every day until the big day, November 6. I'm going to go decade by decade, starting with the Longbranch Pennywhistle era of the late 60s. So let's take a step back in time to 1968-1969, when our hero was just becoming old enough to legally drink.

See a fashionably attired J.D Souther trying to rescue Glenn, who has obviously happily fallen into the clutches of a Kite Woman, on a wallpaper using the back cover of the Longbranch Pennywhistle album and an announcement from their first show at the Troubadour:

Download as 800x600 :: Download as 1024x768

Check out an avatar of Glenn at 21:

There are also two new Longbranch Pennywhistle sidebars, which you should bring up eventually one of the times you hit the front page.

And our last item of the day: a video clip from the movie Vanishing Point, where you can hear the unreleased Longbranch Pennywhistle track "I Can't Believe It" (previously available here only as audio).

See you tomorrow!
