Sad news - passing of Jeff Alborell

I have been informed that Jeff Alborell, former bandmate of Glenn Frey’s, passed away on October 4 in Birmingham, Michigan. In Detroit in the 60s, Alborell and Frey were in the band The Four of Us (Alborell was the bassist). Later, the two split from the group and formed a new group, The Heavy Metal Kids. When Frey wanted to leave Detroit behind and head to California to “make it,” Alborell went with him. You can read more about that time in Detroit here (scroll down past the photo of the Mushrooms to get to the part regarding Alborell).

He was 59.
