Glenn's birthday 2021

 Thinking of Glenn Frey today, here on November 6th.

He would have been 73 years old today.

We miss him just as much now as ever.

Playing some tunes in memory of this great man and raising a glass.

Cheers to my fellow fans out there who are thinking of Glenn today as well. Here's to Glenn Frey - happy birthday!

November 6, 1948. A day that will live in infamy...

Just teasing. Happy birthday Glenn! To celebrate, I've gotten caught up on all those updates I've been meaning to do, with the addition of a few special treats.

First off, just for fun, here's a video of JD Souther wishing Glenn a Happy Birthday at a Houston show in 1976 (this is becoming a birthday tradition).

In other multimedia news, I've put up on the downloads page a video of Before the Ship Goes Down from San Diego 1992. It's not the best quality, but as Glenn says in it, "We have to extract joy from living every single day" - appropriate for a day such as this. Also, I've put up an MP3 of Ol' 55 from the Kirshner Rock Concert in 1974. OK, he's 59 not 55, but who's counting? As he has said, "After 40, age is just a number you hide from."

Well, it's the big day - November 6. Glenn Frey turns 58! Here's a little graphic I made. I also added a quite a few photos for the occasion to the galleries, mostly courtesy of K.C. I'm back, just in time for Glenn Frey's birthday tomorrow and the site anniversary. For the special occasion, I'm doing a series of downloads of Take It Easy over the years. Right now I have the 70s ones up, but I'll add more during the day until we get to modern times. Also, I put up a video of Partytown from Tokyo 1986. It fits the celebratory theme, even if its hedonistic "message" is not applicable!

Frey Sightings

• As mentioned previously, Walmart has officially announced a deal with the Eagles, according to Yahoo finance.
• Bill Simmons of ESPN mentions an old clip of himself and Glenn Frey outside the Hotel California as part of a lament to the fact that no one remembers the show "Too Close for Comfort" anymore. Hey, I remember it, even though Mom never let me watch it. Hehe.
  
• Lots of birthday announcements on those "Celebrity Birthday" things like this one, whichI won't bother to continue to list here!
