Back again

I've returned with downloads! The video is The Girl from Yesterday from St. Louis in 1994. Warning: the quality is not that great - lots of people walking in front of the cameraman - but hey, if you want to see this song in great quality, pull out your copy of Hell Freezes Over! I still think it's a good performance of the song, though. The MP3 is a 1979 performance of Lyin' Eyes from Chicago.

  • The Eagles played a gig for Walmart shareholders in Fayetteville, Arkansas last week - details in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The article also says the new album is scheduled to be released in the fall, but again, this has not been officially confirmed.

NEW Eagles songs!

If you head to your local Walmart or go to Walmart.com, you'll find a bonus CD packaged with Farewell 1 which contains two never-before-heard songs and a studio version of No More Cloudy Days! The two new songs are Fast Company (lead sung by Don Henley; written by Henley/Frey) and Do Something (lead sung by Timothy B. Schmit mainly - Henley sings one of the bridges; written by Henley/Schmit/Steuart Smith). You may have to ask for help if you don't see it right away, and if the sales associates don't know what you're talking about, have them look it up in their system. I had to do that, but I eventually got it!

Back!

I'm back, just in time for Glenn Frey's birthday tomorrow and the site anniversary. For the special occasion, I'm doing a series of downloads of Take It Easy over the years. Right now I have the 70s ones up, but I'll add more during the day until we get to modern times. Also, I put up a video of Partytown from Tokyo 1986. It fits the celebratory theme, even if its hedonistic "message" is not applicable!

FYI

I won't be able to update the downloads this weekend because I am indulging in one of my other fandoms. Lindsey Buckingham is touring for the first time in 14 years and I'm making the most of it, catching him in Cincinnati, Detroit, and Chicago (Frey still has the edge over Buckingham for me, though! But don't tell my fellow Buckingham fans. They don't even know I have a Frey site in addition to my old Buckingham Nicks site which has been woefully neglected since I started GFO - they want me to get back to updating that site and might feel a bit betrayed).

But back to Frey. There's some news here that might be of interest to Eagles fans - but not everyone is happy about it!
