MEGA - update!

A lot of stuff to update now that I'm back! First, put up some photos from the Twickenham concert by the husband of a girl who goes by "WitchyMummy"and some I took myself - mine are the digital camera ones that aren't as good. I also put up a photo I took at Cardiff, more as a momento than anything else, as it isn't the best quality!

Also, the multimedia downloads for this week: Long Hot Summer from Devon, PA 1993 (a nod to my recent trip to Devon, England!) and a video of Doolin-Dalton from Seattle 1976. That one's a bit dark, but I like the song, so there you go. It cuts off mid-way; we'll get the other half, the Reprise, next week.

P.S. Wanted to add - the Eagles rocked the UK.

And - on a personal note - welcome to the world, my new nephew Austin William, who was born while I was away!

• Am I the only one surprised that a new album came out called "The Best of Miami Vice"? Wasn't there already one of those? Maybe it's something to do with the remake movie.

The Glenny!

Sally S. sent me a photo of the Glenny she won at the UCLA class she took from Glenn in 1993 (he gave the awards to exceptional students). It's a hoot! Thanks Sally!

• Glenn is briefly mentioned in Salon.com's review of the new book Laurel Canyon. Eagles hard-cores know that was where Glenn and Don spent a lot of time in the 70s! If you want more info about it, click on the book's site.
• Another book, Hotel California, obviously has the Eagles in it (though they are not as prominently featured as the title would imply). In this review (scroll down), we get the following telling excerpt: "Glenn Frey and Don Henley 'were the horniest boys in town, living without rules or limits,' one ex-girlfriend says. 'We used to call that song (Lyin' Eyes) Lyin' Guys.'''
• Glenn is mentioned in this article as a proponent of Taylor Guitars.
• The Eagles are playing Munich's Olympiahalle tonight. The next show is Rome on May 27th.
