Music, Video, Icons!

This week, I put up an MP3 of Lover's Moon from the 1992 Tokyo Frey concert, and another video from the 1988 World Expo in Australia courtesy of Julie. This one is Heartache Tonight. It cuts off simply because I snipped off the second half, which is the Little River Band doing their song (it was a medley). All of Heartache Tonight is intact. I was also feeling creative and made a few simple Eagles LiveJournal Icons.

Found some more information about a couple benefits Glenn did for the National Science Center's Fort Discovery for Kids and his appearance at Earthfest in 1998. I added them to the Benefit page on the Solo Tour Archive.

Downloads from overseas!

Julie G. sent me a DVD of Frey appearances in Australia in 1988. They include a Don Lane interview where a woman caller admits she'd like to have an affair with Glenn and an MTV interview where Glenn excoriates late '80s rock music. The third is an interview done before the Sydney, Australia show in 1988. Frey played there with the Little River Band, and the interview is of both him and the LRB lead singer Glenn Shorrock. They are also shown rehearsing The Heat Is On for that show. All of these can be found here.

Speaking of, the video for this week is Glenn Frey and the Little River Band doing The Heat Is On in Brisbane, 1988, for the World Expo. The audio of the week is also special. Jared W. sent me a Tokyo 1992 show where Glenn performs the ultra-rare Ain't It Love. It's terrific! Both can be found here.

Another solo date and new site feature

The Fast Lane has received info that Glenn will do another solo date in Mt. Pleasant, MI on July 20! As of yet a link to buy tickets is not available, but it's exciting news anyway! I'd go, but I'm worried he might be freaked out by me following him around. I sure want to, though!

And this seems like a good time to unveil something I've been working on for a few weeks now: The Glenn Frey Solo Tour Archive. I've done a lot of research but the only way that thing will be filled out is if people send me further information, so please do, if you have it!

This week, I put up an .mpg of Glenn doing "Slow Down" in Tokyo for the Allnighter tour. I think that's Christopher Cross with him but I'm not sure. The quality of the video is not the greatest, though. I'd give it about a C-. As far as the audio, it's an .mp3 of Ol' 55 from Springfield in 1975. You know, that song Glenn kept saying for Millennium interviews that they'd never played live. Oops! Download them on the Glenn Frey/Eagles Multimedia Download page.

Also, I made a page for random fun downloads that will stay up. Not sure what I'm going to put on it yet, except I put up Glenn's appearance on the 1985 MTV awards and a couple other things. Check it out here!

Finally, Paige informed L&M about a petition one can sign to get Glenn a star on a "walk of fame" in Michigan. Details here.
